How to Get Away With Murder

That title sounds like it could get somebody in big trouble…

But it’s actually the name of a (relatively) new TV show that I just started finished watching.

ABC’s official description of the show:

“The brilliant, charismatic and seductive Professor Annalise Keating gets entangled with four law students from her class “How to Get Away with Murder.” Little do they know that they will have to apply what they learned to real life, in this masterful, sexy, suspense-driven legal thriller.” (Source)

Now, I’m someone who doesn’t even like legal dramas but couldn’t wait to watch the next episode of this show. In fact, I downed all 9 episodes in three days (thankfully, before finals week). While the story is intriguing, I think what drives my interest is the characters.

Could they have chosen a more good-looking cast? I think not.

Of course I love my strong, female lead character Annalise Keating (Viola Davis!!). She’s the definition of “boss” both in the courtroom and the classroom. Her law students are all kind of doofuses, but I like them. They’re relatable – while they may be law students, I can see their character types among the college kids I go to school with right now. My interest in the characters, their budding (and twisty) romances, and otherwise intriguing criminal court cases make this show A+ for me. I can’t wait for January 29 to roll around, which is when the rest of season 1 will air again!

Have you seen this show? What other TV shows would you recommend to HTGAWM fans?

Thanks for reading!
