Ahhh, Sea World – it felt good returning to you!
Apparently when I was little, my mom took my grandma and I to Sea World all the time. Case in point:
This time around, I couldn’t believe how “small” the park was compared to the one in my memories! JPei’s theory of relativity: everything was bigger when you were a little kid.
Though smaller than I remembered, there were still a great deal of things to do. So, my day at Sea World will be split into two blog posts: one on the animal exhibits and another on the dolphin and whale shows. Check back later for the second post on the shows!
One of the things we did while waiting for rides to open was to enter the penguin exhibit:
Lilly could not believe they were real! Apparently the ones she saw in the Dallas Zoo were skinny (undernourished?) and sluggish. The ones here were swimming, eating, hopping, and just being their cute penguin selves.
Another animal “encounter” was the dolphin cove. However, I was devastated when I found out that visitors could no longer feed them because it was ruining their diets! When I went some 5 or 6 years ago, tons of people surrounded the cove to feed and pet the dolphins. I even got to pet one as it swam by. But my parents didn’t buy us the fish to feed them (WHY??!) and now my chances are gone forever… Gosh Sea World, way to crush a girl’s dream.
Since we couldn’t do much there, we moved on to the sharks.
Aside from the exhibits, we rode a roller coaster and watched four shows. Stay tuned for the post on the shows coming soon!
Have you ever been to Sea World? I found out there are only 3 Sea Worlds in the USA, and what’s funny is I’ve been to all of them. I guess you could say I’m a fan! 😀
Thanks for reading!
