My friend showed me this movie trailer for Le Petit Prince the other day. Though it was all in French and I didn’t understand a word of it, I enjoyed the story and imagination behind it all. However, what really caught my attention was the song, “Somewhere Only We Know” sung by Lily Allen.
You must watch the music video:
So much art and cute animals in one video! It went along beautifully with the song. I still can’t figure out how they combined the stop motion and animation into one.
What do you think?
P.S. I’m excited about this new category, Books, Film & Music where I’ll share my recent media obsessions recommendations. Stay tuned!
Thanks for posting. I saw the video last year (it was used as a John Lewis Christmas ad). Nice to see a little bit about how it was made and the name of the song that went with it.

Huh, that’s interesting. I don’t know who John Lewis is, but he has good taste in music & animation…

How much fun would it be to make a video like that?! Wonderful. I prefer the Keane version of the song, though.

Fun and I’m sure very, very time consuming. All worth it though! I like Keane’s version too, but have always loved Lily Allen’s voice.
