Off the Beaten Path

My favorite kind of runs are ones that are 34% running and the rest? Anything else. Most of the time, that means walking, drinking water, etc. but on Saturday my friend Brolivia and I wandered off the running trail to explore a small beaten path. I thought it was the same one that I discovered earlier in the year (see my Nature Walks post), but to my delight it was not. So here are pics from the hike that I snapped with my iPhone:

I also had an urge to climb a tree that fell over and its trunk formed a bridge. I reached a nook where I was perfectly happy hugging a sturdy trunk, but Brolivia continued to climb up:
